Emirates News Agency – UAE pioneer in preserving Arabic language: Noura Al Kaabi

ABU DHABI, 17th December, 2022 (WAM) — Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, said that the preservation and promotion of the Arabic language has always been at the forefront of the UAE’s cultural and intellectual agenda.

On the occasion of Arabic Language Day, which falls on December 18 each year, the Minister of Culture and Youth said that the UAE has attached great importance to the Arabic language since its inception.

“The UAE has been leading the development and preservation of the Arabic language and has launched several initiatives to this end, in an effort to position Arabic as one of the world’s most important languages, helping to regain its place among the top global languages , while also developing it for the future, despite the many challenges,” she noted.

“The Ministry of Culture and Youth is keen to carry out various activities to celebrate Arabic Language Day and commemorate the language. We will continue to enhance the status of our language, as well as in the Arab world, by working with our local partner cultural institutions and institutions. We are committed to A range of initiatives, events and programs that help strengthen the Arabic language take this approach,” continued Al Kaabi.

“Working with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Center (ALC) to publish the report on the status of the Arabic language is one of the many initiatives we have undertaken. We are also working on the Arabic language manifesto he announced by Sheikh Mohammed Al Jazeera, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Arabic Language Summit which will begin its first session on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

“The summit will serve as a platform to strengthen the efforts of language enthusiasts and experts keen to address the most relevant issues affecting the present and future of the Arabic language and its role in shaping the identity of Arab societies,” the minister concluded.
