Pakistan envoy invites UAE businessmen to invest in tourism

Islamabad: Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistani Ambassador to the UAE, has urged Emirati investors and the business community to explore investment opportunities in the country.

The ambassador, who assumed his new role last month, visited the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) as part of introductory meetings with local businessmen and investors.

Tirmizi visited Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and expressed appreciation for the policies adopted by ADCCI for the economic development of the UAE and the facilitation of Abu Dhabi businesses. According to the Khaleej times report, he emphasized the strengthening of ADCCI’s cooperation with the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and frequent B2B visits.

The Ambassador also briefed Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri on Pakistan’s investment regime and policies to facilitate investment. He invited the Director General and members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to visit Pakistan to explore investment opportunities in the country.

The parties agreed to launch a project each in Pakistan and the UAE to further strengthen B2B ties between the two countries.

Earlier, the ambassador also met SCCI Chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais and discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and Pakistan.

Tirmizi highlighted Pakistan’s friendly economic policies, investment opportunities and ease of doing business, and invited the chairman and members of the Chamber of Commerce to visit Pakistan to explore the huge economic opportunities, especially in the country’s hospitality and tourism sectors. He also invited the chamber of commerce to participate in an international trade show scheduled to be held in Pakistan in February 2023.

The ambassador also lauded Sharjah’s leadership in business and sustainable development, thanked the chamber for its efforts to serve the business community and strengthen cooperation with the Pakistani business community.

The Ambassador and Al Owais also discussed how to further develop priority economic sectors and open up new horizons for partnerships between the Sharjah and Pakistani business communities.

Owais welcomed the visiting delegation and wished the new Pakistani ambassador success in fulfilling his duties and strengthening cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that the bilateral relations between the UAE and Pakistan are becoming stronger and deeper as the leaders of the two countries are eager to promote relations and cooperation between the two countries at all levels.

He said such meetings would certainly encourage both parties to formulate action plans and explore prospects for strengthening economic relations between Sharjah and Pakistan.

Director General of SCCI Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi; Head of SCCI International Cooperation Department Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab; Pakistani diplomats and business people from both sides also attended the meeting.
