People are interested in culture whether it is jewelry, accessories Or any other fashion line, it’s very much about luxury.”
“I was analyzing the market here two years ago, pre-Covid, and I got some insights that seemed very encouraging. There was clearly a focus on fashion as a core business, multimedia arts and ‘visual arts. Some agencies position themselves more in interior and visual design. So I understand the potential for us to come here, take up to 20 students in a boutique school classroom. “
She further emphasized that the school will adopt a concrete approach of “learning by doing”.
Valenti added: “We will not only teach students theoretical knowledge, but also a lot of laboratory work where students create prototypes and collections as part of the course. The finalization of specific collections and fashion looks requires a lot of use of different tools to film and create projects related to their promotion. They will also learn new content production activities related to online syndication.
In addition, the course will focus on the business of fashion, where students will learn how to develop a business plan for the global growth of a brand.
“Many brands have intensive retail activity in the Middle East. We see fashion styling as another interesting area, as it is the basis for creating and promoting according to the needs of different continents and cultures.”
The new Dubai school will be located in the Dubai International Financial District.
Valenti further emphasized that the faculty will be diverse, many of whom will be appointed from among Italian teachers.
“The facility we will open in Dubai will be a branch of the Italian school in Milan. But we will also be hiring teachers from Dubai and other parts of the Middle East, and we have already reached out to alumni who are already working in the region.”
In terms of clarifying the accreditation, she added, “it has been validated by the Italian Ministry of Education. We have applied to the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) for approval to obtain federal validation here.”
