Islamabad [Pakistan]Dec 19 (ANI): Pakistan Justice Instigation (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Sunday pledged that despite his “personal” dispute with former army chief Kamal Javed Bajwa “Tribune Express” reported that he took the stage again. Speaking at a meeting of the Pakistan Council of Newspaper Editors (CPNE) delegation at Zaman’s Park residence in Lahore, Khan said the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir himself had said that he would stay neutral.

However, he added that an election within three months of the dissolution of parliament would be the biggest test of his neutrality.

The former prime minister said he explained to Bajwa the involvement of Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif in a corruption case worth Rs 1,600 crore, The Tribune reported.

“I told General Bajwa that if we catch 10 to 12 top corrupt elements, everything will be back on track,” he added. However, he added that he later learned that corruption was not a problem for General Bajwa.

Imran said Pakistan’s economy would have fared better if there had been no coronavirus pandemic and China had not been locked down for two years.

He questioned how the country’s economy is declining and people’s incomes are low, so how to repay the loan in this situation. “A country cannot prosper without the rule of law,” he added.

Referring to the Toshakhana case, the PTI chief said that if there was corruption during his tenure, the opponents would have brought it up instead of just highlighting the Toshakhana issue, The Express Tribune reported.

“Toshakhana is not a museum. If I hadn’t bought the watch, it would have been bought by someone else at auction,” he said, adding that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif And Asif Ali Zardari also bought expensive cars from Toshakhana.

Earlier, Imran Khan said the “corrupt gangs” had been cleared under the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) II granted to them by the former army chief, local media reported.

The former prime minister made the remarks against the backdrop of Salman Shehbaz’s return to the country after more than four years of self-imposed exile in London, News International reported.

Khan said Gen (retd) Bajwa committed an act of cruelty by awarding NRO-II to members of the “corrupt gang”.

The PTI chief slammed the former army chief, reiterating that his government was overthrown under conspiracy and that kleptocracy was imposed on the country, the report said.

“Salman Shehbaz, who absconded in the Maqsood Chaprasi case, has also returned to give us lectures, and Nawaz Sharif is also planning to return,” Khan said. (Arnie)
