Officials from Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco have appeared together in public for the first time to discuss the “Cyber Iron Dome” cyber defense system.

Also in attendance were officials from Oman and Kuwait, seen by many as potential newcomers to the Abraham Accords.

Gabi Portnoy, head of Israel’s National Cyber Agency, which oversees civilian cyber defense, called the meeting a historic one and dubbed the joint project “Cyber Iron Dome.”
The “real” Iron Dome is a defense system designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and artillery shells aimed at populated areas of Israel.
In November, Israel hosted a cybersecurity conference that showcased Israeli-developed cybersecurity and security products from 65 different companies. At that meeting, Portnoy announced cooperation between Israel and the UAE involving cyber intelligence sharing.
