ABU DHABI, 19th December, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi School of Government, ADSG, held its inaugural Government Talent Reinvention event.
The first-of-its-kind event was held at Abu Dhabi Government Department as part of Abu Dhabi Government Department’s ongoing efforts to build a pool of outstanding Emirati national talent working in Abu Dhabi Government.
Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Government Support Department, Yasir Ahmed Al Naqbi, Dean of the Abu Dhabi Government Academy attended the event, and 400 representatives of the Abu Dhabi government participated. The event aims to enhance harmony and cooperation among government entities and provide a platform for the incubation and effective exchange of ideas. Through participation, Abu Dhabi Government employees are able to redefine the future of talent by offering their ideas and suggestions to elevate the emirate’s learning and development ecosystem.
The event included an interactive brainstorming session where participants were divided into four groups focusing on the event’s four themes; Digitize, Imagine, Engage and Scale. Each theme was designed to inspire participants to come up with ideas and proposals to enhance government excellence and build a promising future for Abu Dhabi’s national talent.
The Digitize team is focused on the role of technology in enhancing ADSG’s efforts to provide added value to Abu Dhabi Government employees through advanced learning and development opportunities.
The Imagine team outlines advanced learning tools and opportunities that ADSG can use to enhance its capabilities and enhance the professional learning and development experience it provides to Abu Dhabi government employees.
The Engage team provides ideas for building a community of leaders who rely on effective practice, providing them with a variety of networking opportunities. The meeting also discussed enhancing communication and cooperation between the ADSG and emirate government entities. Finally, it highlights the tools needed to elevate the emirate’s learning and development ecosystem to more effectively meet the needs of the Abu Dhabi government.
The Expand team is focused on bringing forward ideas related to enabling a mind shift to focus on individuals and talent in government.
Dr. Yasir Ahmed Al Naqbi said: “Today we convened the Government Talent Reinvention event, the first government-led event in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We are delighted to see the impressive participation of government representatives and played a key role in coming up with ideas and proposals to help underpin a brighter and more hopeful present and future for government talent.

The event helped strengthen ADSG’s efforts to build a pool of talented government talent to meet the needs of the Abu Dhabi Government, as well as enhance collaboration and communication between employees of Abu Dhabi government entities and ADSG. This contributes to the achievement of the goals of the Abu Dhabi Government and its progress towards continued excellence.
