To complement the ongoing efforts to establish an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campus in Abu Dhabi, IIT Delhi has announced that it will offer 500 fully funded Ph.D.Scholarships for international students, including eligible Gulf students, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM)
This will mean that students graduating from the planned IIT Abu Dhabi campus will have the opportunity to continue their studies in India in the same manner and structure as their academic pursuits in the UAE.

“The institute will introduce new courses in 2023,” the IIT Delhi announced. The new curriculum will take into account the needs of its proposed overseas campuses.
Apart from the UAE, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tanzania and Malaysia are also planning offshore campuses of IITs.
IIT Delhi has announced that its former academic dean will act as coordinator for the launch of the Abu Dhabi campus.
As reported last month, IIT Delhi has identified the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) as its partner for the establishment of a campus in the UAE capital.
Earlier, a senior team from the Indian Institute visited Abu Dhabi and held extensive discussions with ADEK officials and other stakeholders of the project, Education Minister Subhas Sarkar informed the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India.
If current plans go ahead as planned, IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi will begin operations in 2024. The first students will start their academic programs there in September of that year.
