Amman: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed UAE’s keen support for all efforts to achieve security, stability and prosperity for Iraq and its people , and against foreign interference in domestic affairs.
He also stressed that the stabilization of Iraq would enhance security in the region.
Leading the UAE delegation to the Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership Conference that began today in Jordan, Sheikh Saud said the UAE will continue to support efforts to promote a culture of peace and tolerance, moderation and coexistence, and to combat violence, hatred and extremism.
He also affirmed the importance of Arab and regional cooperation in creating a stable region and a prosperous future, while noting the efforts of the Iraqi government to organize the first Baghdad Conference on Cooperation and Partnerships. Its success is an important step in Iraq’s efforts to restore its natural role in the Arab region.
He added that the high-level regional and international participation in the event underscored the enthusiasm to support Iraq through this critical period. He expressed his hope for the success of the meeting and affirmed the need to use its outcome and work with Iraq to help it overcome its challenges.
He further added that the second session provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing Iraq and those affecting stability and security in the region. He stressed that dialogue among countries in the region is the only way to create a prosperous future for Iraq and the region.
At the end of his statement, Sheikh Saud thanked Jordan and France for organizing the event.
