look! ‘Emily in Paris’ returns with surprises

[ad_1]

ParisEmily in Paris fans When the third season of the hit show hits Netflix this Wednesday, there will be some surprises in their Christmas stocking.

Even the actors were struck by the amount of suspense in the new series when they first read the script.

“I thought, how are we going to film all — like, what?” said Lily Collins, who plays the titular U.S. marketing executive with an impressive French social media presence.

“But it was a real ride. It was a real rollercoaster shoot. It was also really fun,” she added.

Season three offers more career options, stylist dilemmas and romantic revelations for the fashion diva.

Although Lucas Bravo (who plays Emily’s full-time neighbor and sometimes lover, Chef Gabriel) doesn’t think she’s the only one in the series who has problems.

“It was just Emily’s chaos,” Bravo said. “Now everyone has their own story and their own chaos. It’s a big soup of chaos and drama.”

The first season arrived in October 2020, and the second season arrived in December last year. After three years in the role, the actors are keen to point out where their characters start and end.

Collins — who is also an executive producer — said she was always a better fit in France than Emily because she actually knew the language and culture.

Among them, Emily has problems with her French pronunciation, which leads to tongue twisters.

“It’s kind of difficult to pretend you don’t know how to say something,” explains Collins. “Mispronouncing it over and over again like… I just want to answer it in full in French. So it’s tricky.”

Kate Walsh plays Madeleine, Emily’s American boss, and she wants to let it be known that her taste in clothing is very different from her brash, brightly colored personality.

“I would never dress like that. But I love it because it’s so essential to the character,” Walsh said.

Likewise, Leroy-Beaulieu of the Philippines claims there are stark differences between her and her portrayal of Sylvie, Madeline’s tropically chic Parisian business rival.

Leroy-Beaulieu says she’s far less snobby, though Sylvie’s snooty attitude is “very funny.”

But Bravo instead argues that all actors are more like their characters than they realize: “What’s good about[showrunner]Darren’s (star) casting, he’s always found that, you know, actors are characters Essential characters. So there’s always a part of us in every character.”

“I don’t know the difference. I think I’ll admit my mistakes more than Gabriel. But overall, we’re very similar in a lot of ways when it comes to vulnerability, femininity, and sexiness,” he said. jokingly said.

The third season will consist of 10 episodes.

“If you like chaos, you’ll be served,” promises Bravo.
