The UAE Public Prosecution (UAEPP) has ordered the detention of a manager of a private company on charges of falsely recruiting Emirati at the company, falsifying electronic documents and issuing false employment contracts.

The UAE PP stated that the accused circumvented the company’s emiratization percentage in order to qualify for benefits and financial support from schemes allocated to private sector employees, such as the ‘Nafis’ scheme.

The UAE PP added that the offense is considered a fraudulent act of illegally seizing state funds and violates labor laws as well as controls established by the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council.

The Attorney-General has received a report on the incident from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, so he ordered an urgent investigation into the incident.

The forwarded information was verified by an investigation and it was found that the manager of the company, with the help of some of his employees, allegedly falsely hired more than 40 citizens.

The Attorney-General called on officials of private sector companies to take responsibility and play their due role in nurturing Emirati cadres and developing their skills in order to contribute to their economic development and that of the UAE in general.
