Dubai will ring in the New Year with dazzling fireworks displays, headlining concerts by superstars, top-notch entertainment, family-friendly events and spectacular drone shows at 30 locations across the city.
The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and Dubai Calendar, the official guide to events in Dubai, have teamed up to provide a roundup of the best celebrations, making the city one of the world’s top travel destinations for 2023, reports Wam.
The epic fireworks display will take place at many popular hotels, tourist destinations and public spaces throughout the city.
As the clock strikes midnight, the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, takes on a breathtaking spectacle. In addition to this, a range of other famous Dubai landmarks will also present their exhibitions to mark the occasion, including Dubai Frame, Bluewaters, Beaches, JBR and Burj Al Arab.
The festivities took place at more than 30 picturesque locations in Dubai, including a breathtaking show at Atlantis, The Palm. The city’s golf courses will also be popular destinations for people to enjoy New Year’s Eve festivities.
Jumeirah Golf Estates Golf & Country Club, Emirates Golf Club, Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai, Arabian Ranches Golf Club and Topgolf Dubai will host a range of events, parties and fireworks displays.
New Year’s celebrations in the city are one of the key experiences in the Dubai destination, which residents and visitors alike can enjoy amidst the fantastic winter weather.
Dubai’s sandy beaches will also be part of the action, with iconic seaside destinations such as West Palm Beach and Club Vista Mare offering opportunities to take part in seasonal festivities. Likewise, many of Dubai’s best resorts will celebrate 2023 with their own fireworks displays, events and parties.
These include Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai, One&Only Royal Mirage, JA Beach Hotel – Jebel Ali, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort, One&Only The Palm, Sofitel Dubai The Palm, Palazzo Versace Dubai, Park Hyatt Dubai, Bulgari Resort Dubai and Four Seasons Resort Dubai, Jumeirah Beach.
Families can choose from a number of destinations to enjoy a variety of exhibitions and seasonal events: Dubai Creek, Al Seef, Global Village, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Dubai Festival City Mall and Nshama Town Square. Alternatively, families and groups of all ages can choose a unique desert experience to ring in the New Year at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort and Al Khayma Desert Camp.
Visitors and residents can also look forward to the DSF Drone Light Show at JBR Bluewaters and The Beach at 20:00 and 23:00. The free-to-watch show features hundreds of drones entertaining crowds with spectacular lights, displaying patterns and messages in the night sky. Diners can grab a front-row seat at one of the many restaurants in the area.
Also illuminating the city is the Lights of Dubai exhibition, featuring stunning artistic light installations by leading artists in the medium at City Walk 2, Pointe Nakheel Mall and Dubai Design District.
Kylie Minogue, one of Australia’s most famous singers of all time, will perform a concert at Atlantis The Palm in the closing hours of 2022. The theme of this year’s gala is ‘Night of Stars’ and, in addition to Milo’s performance, the resort will be offering front-row seats to one of Dubai’s biggest fireworks displays as the clock strikes midnight.
Award-winning artist Enrique Iglesias will perform live at trendy seaside spot Naamos on December 31st. The famous singer will perform with the famous Cuban reggae duo Gente De Zona.
The biggest names in Sudanese entertainment will host a musical extravaganza on 31 December featuring pop diva Nada Al-Qalaa, hit singer Taha Suliman and Maghrebi pop band MarSimba.
New Year’s Eve at the Burj Al Arab will offer visitors Michelin-starred dining experiences and folk performances such as Samba Belogo Motylka, Prityagenia Bolshe Net and award-winning artist Valery Meladze’s Paradise. At midnight, visitors can step onto the terrace and have a panoramic view of the brilliant fireworks.
Legendary Russian boy band Ivanushki International will perform live performances of their hits such as Zolotye Oblaka and Beznadega Tochka Ru. New Year’s revelers can also head to the Dubai Theater for exclusive dinners and family celebrations at the major festival.
The evening will also see performances by Nigerian-Swedish artist Dr. Alban, Danish pop star Tomas Nevergreen, Dutch band Ten Sharp, Russian stand-up comedian Artur Pirozhkov, magician Graf Voronin and TV presenter Pavel Volya. Visitors can also enjoy DJ Zamir’s party hits and children can engage in interactive games and activities, Wam reports.
At the Dubai Opera, one of the city’s most iconic entertainment venues, a disco til dawn-themed celebration kicks off with internationally acclaimed dance duo Jasmine and Aaron from Britain’s Got Talent. Come on show. At the stroke of midnight, guests will be taken outside to the promenade to witness the legendary Burj Khalifa fireworks, it added.
