As part of the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai will showcase 10 unique interactive light installations at City Walk, creating an immersive art journey combining light and sound
In collaboration with Light Art Collection and Merex Investment, the outdoor exhibition titled ‘The Sparks Within’ celebrates the power, resilience and positivity of light and sound as a symbol of the connection between people, places and nature.
Visitors and residents continue to enjoy a series of light installations around the city walk, such as Angela Chong’s multifunctional work titled C/C, and an interactive sculpture that plays under the lights while also serving as public seating.
Visitors can also see a music-inspired installation called Light Piano 2.0 by Arion de Munck and Mark Ridder, and a colorful artwork called Nest by Vikas Patiland Santosh Gujar, inspired by the symbol of the bird’s nest significance. Additionally, visitors can interact with the Luigi Console and Valentina Novembre’s Never Ends and Squidsoup’s Submergence; two immersive artworks that provide a luminous experience.
Also among the 10 pieces are Angelo Bonello’s emotional artwork titled Run Beyond which conveys the power of imagination and its ability to overcome fear and limitations, Koros Design’s pop art inspired tulip titled BUNCH OF TULIPS, UxU Studio’s TORNADO mimics the majestic natural phenomenon, Clifton Mahangoe’s Sphere 3D Spectrum embodies the phrase “opposites attract” and last but not least is an installation of 1,500 lights designed to evoke Uxu Design’s project titled DESIRE. Dubai Lights will run until 29 January 2023, with more installations from renowned artists and studios to be found in Dubai Design District (d3) and Palm Jumeirah. – trade arab news agency
