President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a telegram of condolences to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the death of his mother.

A similar message of condolences was sent to Prime Minister Modi by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Heeraben Modi, 100, died at the United Nations Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad at around 3.30am on Saturday, according to a hospital announcement.

She was hospitalized on Wednesday after her health deteriorated.

Several other world leaders also sent messages of condolences to Modi.
