Ras Al Khaimah is all the rage in 2023, scoring two Guinness World Records for their pyrotechnic music show.

The 12-minute spectacle lit up the skies and earned them two titles: “Largest number of multicopters/drones operated simultaneously for a firework display” and “Largest aerial sentence consisting of multicopters/drones”673 drone.

Drawing visitors from around the world, the show showcased state-of-the-art drones, nanolights, colors and shapes, all choreographed to electronic beats. The whole journey is more than 4.7 kilometers, and the flying altitude reaches 1100 meters, breaking the previous record of 458 drones.

The drone ends with the message ‘Happy New Year 2023’ to signify new beginnings, before seamlessly transitioning to the emirate’s iconic ‘RAKashida’ logo to connect with the destination.Drawing inspiration from the concept of “kashida” in Arabic calligraphy – a line that connects letters into a word – the logo represents the three unique natural elements of the emirate: the eternally rising and falling sea, the desert with rolling dunes, and towering mountains

Commenting on this year’s world record-breaking fireworks display, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Board CEO Laki Phillips said: “Ras Al Khaimah has once again proven its position as a leading tourist destination, welcoming people from all over the world. We not only Two new Guinness World Record titles for our #RAKNYE2023 celebration, and we gave thousands of visitors and residents a New Year’s Eve show they’ll never forget.”

The festivities attracted more than 30,000 visitors and hotels across the emirate were booked out, making it the most visited show to date.
