Dubai, January 1

Indians have been the biggest beneficiaries of Mahzooz, the UAE’s leading weekly sweepstakes, which has created 31 multi-millionaires in the past two years, handing out over AED350 million in prizes to winning participants.

Out of a total of 217,000 winners, Indians topped the list thanks to a large and repeated number of participants from the United Arab Emirates, India and other GCC countries.

In 2022, Indians from various countries competed and won a sizable share, with a total prize pool of AED 85,000,000 (INR 1.9 billion). Four of these winners are the lucky recipients of Mahzooz’s top prize and will become multi-millionaires overnight in 2022.

By the way, the first and last millionaires of 2022 are also from India. While Rama walks away with a weekly prize of Dh10 million, Dalip is the lucky solo winner in a promotional prize pool of Dh20 million. (The Indian rupee ranged from an average of 20.25 rupees to 1 dirham at the beginning of the year to 22.5 rupees on December 30.)

The first winner of this year’s Mahzooz was an Indian chef whose fortune skyrocketed to multi-millionaire in the 66th weekly draw. Rama, a chef from a very ordinary family, has won the top prize of Dh10,000,000 and is determined to give his children the education he never received.

He considers the UAE to be his lucky charm: “Before I came to Dubai, I worked as a personal chef for a travel company that catered to Indian tourists, so I traveled the world. But I decided to come to the UAE because my friends said it was A place where dreams come true.”

“Even though I lost my job during the pandemic and when families are wary of hiring domestic helpers, I have not lost hope. There is always light after dark. I cannot thank UAE and Mahzooz enough,” said Rama.

Anish is the second winner in 2022, who also won the top prize of Dh10 million.

For an IT professional working for a private company in Ajman, UAE, his sixth sense gives him a positive sense that he has won something.

“At first I thought I had won a small amount, but when I logged into my account, I was shocked to find that I was the jackpot winner. It was such a blessing. I will use the winnings to pay off debts, help family members in need, Most importantly, bringing my family to live with me in the UAE,” said Anish.

Dalip, the latest India 2022 winner living in Kuwait, has become Mahzooz’s 30th multi-millionaire as he won a life-changing AED 20 million prize in the 102nd Mahzooz weekly draw.

The 48-year-old father-of-three, a mechanical engineer, has been participating in Mahzooz regularly with the sole aim of winning the Dh100,000 guaranteed draw.

However, he walked away with Dh20,000,000 as part of a limited-time promotion.
