It’s a new year, so you should be catching up on some new TV. Or maybe you don’t—I don’t know you. Regardless, here are six new series that will premiere in January 2023 and are worth checking out.Not bad considering the only good shows that premiered last January were HBO Max shows peacemaker and Apple TV+’s after party. We all forgot Fox’s joe millionaire reboot, right? Be nice to us.
Mayfair Witch (AMC+; Sunday, Jan. 8): Beyond witches and the paranormal, the biggest suspense request Mayfair Witch Possibly Alexandra Daddario (white lotus) as a brain doctor.In this adaptation of Anne Rice’s The Life of the Faile Witch, saucer-eyed neurosurgeon Ron Fielding (D’Addario) learns that she is descended from a powerful dynasty of witches. On the downside, the Mayfairs (including Harry Hamlin and Annabeth Gish) are haunted by a dark spirit – the family always has problems.
Koala (Hulu; Monday, January 9): Middle-aged dad Kevin (voiced by Michael Cusack) puts on a koala mask and fights lowlowA super-crime takes place in his small Australian town – who said the superhero genre had run out?except for anyone who has experienced black adam? Peacock may finally have a winner.
