Dubai flights: Airlines say tourists do not need to show vaccine records-News

Passengers who choose to travel to other emirates must continue to show proof of vaccination as previously described.

According to travel guidelines issued by the UAE and Indian Airlines on Tuesday, travelers to Dubai do not need to show their vaccination records before entering the country. After the UAE authorities announced the resumption of visit visas for tourists vaccinated against Covid from August 30, a new travel update was issued.

According to guidelines issued by Emirates Airlines Emirates and flydubai, holders of all types of visas and/or entry permits granted by the UAE authorities can now fly to Dubai. Air India, Air India, Indigo and SpiceJet also issued similar notices. On Monday, an Air India official in Dubai also confirmed these reports to Khaleej Times.

The airline issued these revised guidelines in accordance with an agreement issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) on Monday. Currently, the types of visas allowed to enter Dubai include residence visa, employment visa, short-term or long-term residence visa, visitor visa and newly issued residence visa.

What documents do tourists need?

Inbound passengers from restricted countries/regions need to hold a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate and issue a certificate with a QR code within 48 hours after collecting samples from approved medical institutions. They also need to produce a rapid PCR test report with a QR code so that they can be tested at the departure airport within six hours of departure.

However, the above regulations only apply to passengers arriving in Dubai. According to the travel guide published on the websites of Etihad Airways and Arab Airlines, passengers who choose to travel to all other international airports in the country must continue to produce the vaccination certificate described earlier.

Raheesh Babu, group chief operating officer of online travel agency Musafir.com, said: “We are still waiting for the final standard operating procedures for Etihad Airways tourists.”

Tourist visa holders have already begun to arrive in Dubai. Khaleej Times interviewed tourists who arrived in Dubai early on Tuesday morning. Abu Dhabi resident Kamlesh Tiwari met his wife Preeti Tiwari and 21-year-old son Pritesh Tiwari at Dubai International Airport at 6 am. Tiwari moved to Abu Dhabi and worked at the Abu Dhabi branch of Union Bank of India.

A few days ago, he applied for a tourist visa for his wife and son. “They flew to Dubai from Ahmedabad. All my reservations are handled by Musafir.com. This is the first time my wife and son travel to Dubai. Both my wife and son have been vaccinated.”

He added: “However, I don’t need to show proof of vaccination anywhere. They just underwent the pre-travel RT-PCR test and another rapid test at the airport. They had a third test at DXB after getting off the plane. After receiving the test results, Tiwari went to Abu Dhabi with his family.

“We stayed at the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border and provided all our documents, including our lease contract. The border authorities updated the details into the system. Once we got permission, it took an hour and we went home. My family will undergo a 10-day home quarantine in Abu Dhabi and ensure that we comply with all regulations issued by the government,” he said.
