UAE – Ivy League university students express interest in starting a business in the UAE and find out what support is available for start-ups.
Previously, 25 marketing students from Iowa State University’s Ivy League School of Business were recently impressed by the innovation-driven ecosystem at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), considered the most dynamic start-up in the region. Accompanied by faculty from the Academy, the students are visiting the UAE to see how the global innovation hub develops, enhances and markets itself.
The group showed a strong interest in the UAE and asked questions about setting up a business, the overall business environment and the support available for start-ups and businesses new to the region.
They appreciated the innovation on display and the level of support provided to connect start-ups with the right people to grow their business and network.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTIP, said: “SRTIP has always encouraged students from all over the world to witness first-hand the amazing innovations being created in this dynamic incubation centre.”

Some of the latest ideas for making human life better are taking center stage at SRTIP. Levitating skypods for smart transportation are developing rapidly, 3-D and additive manufacturing are gaining traction, and Dutch startup Lightyear’s world’s first electric vehicle will soon be field tested.
