The petition was written to the country’s media regulator and the Ministry of Communications and Youth, calling for the cancellation of the show and for “sanctions against the performance team led by Yves de M’Bella”.
NCI’s management apologized on Tuesday, saying that it is committed to “respect for human rights, especially women’s human rights,” and expressed “solidarity with women who have suffered all kinds of violence and abuse.”
NCI is responsible for “this serious and regrettable error”, stating that Dembela has been suspended and the controversial episodes of the show will not be replayed.
