Cathetrix, the developer of the Urological (Foley) Smart Catheter Fixation Device, will commercially launch its catheter stabilizer for the prevention of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and accidental Foley catheter removals at Arab Health 2023.
The Foley/Safe is the first stabilizing and immobilizing device that prevents accidental catheter removal by severing the catheter, deflation of the retention balloon and preventing damage to the bladder and urethra.
Upgraded version
Cathetrix will be exhibiting an upgraded version of its Foley/Safe, including Three layers of protection:
• Fixation – An adhesive patch holds the catheter in place, preventing tiny catheter movements from transferring to the urinary system.
Anti-slip smart mechanism – detects and absorbs small movements of the catheter to prevent the catheter from being pulled. The non-slip tape lasts up to 14 days without replacement, reducing the risk of catheter-related UTIs.
·Disconnection——When the pulling force is large and severe, the advanced cutting mechanism cuts off the catheter smoothly. As a result, the catheter retention balloon deflates allowing safe and easy removal.
These mechanisms prevent the transfer of external elements to the urinary system and are unique to Foley/Safe 2.0.
most stable
“Arab Health presents us with an excellent opportunity to commercialize the world’s most stable Foley catheter,” said Tal Hadass, Cathetrix Chief Marketing Officer. “The highly developed healthcare system in the Gulf region could benefit from the use of innovative Foley/Safe 2.0 to improve patient health while benefiting from an extra layer of protection.”
The Foley/Safe 2.0 device has been adapted to the requirements of the medical system and is preferred by surgeons and nurses in the fields of urology, geriatrics, orthopedics and gynecology.
Foley/Safe 2.0 can safely avoid surgery and costly hospitalization. Cathetrix is developing a new advanced stabilizer for nephrostomy tubes. — trade arab news agency
