UAE flights: Airfare prices have doubled as travel demand soars-News

After Kerala, the second highest price comes from Mumbai, followed by Delhi.

Since all types of visa holders and stranded residents are allowed to fly to the UAE, airfare prices have increased by at least 100%.

Since the authorities announced the resumption of visit visas for Covid-vaccinated tourists starting on August 30, airfare prices have been soaring, especially from the subcontinent to the UAE, according to the airline.

Two recent announcements by the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) have led to a sharp increase in the cost of air tickets and hotel accommodation, especially in Dubai, according to travel agencies and hotel owners.

100% price increase

Malik Bedekar, Operations Manager of Smart Travels, said: “The demand and ticket prices of passengers from across the subcontinent are soaring. Ticket prices from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal have increased by at least 100%.”

“Demand for passengers from Bangladesh is very high, but the standard operating procedures for passengers and tourist visa holders from South Asian countries are still unclear. Once airlines clarify these rules, I predict that ticket prices should rise again. “Badkar explained.

In India, Kerala has the highest rate. Depending on the airline and travel time, the average price of a one-way ticket is 1,000 to 2,400 dirhams. These prices apply to travel on September 3.

“Some airlines are offering special fares to passengers. Go Air sells special fares to passengers departing from Kochi and Kannur. These tickets are priced from 750 to 800 dirhams,” he added.

After Kerala, the second highest price comes from Mumbai, followed by Delhi.

“Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad from Pakistan are all peak areas, especially the rapid detection problem has been resolved. Currently, the demand is very high, but it should be normalized within a week or two,” Badekar said.

2,000 messages on social media

Agents stated that they received an average of 2,000 messages on social media platforms such as Facebook to seek information about air tickets. Badekar said that one of the main problems that passengers face is that airlines do not have a unified SOP, which confuses those who wish to travel.

Malik Naseer, Operations Manager of Cozmo Travels, said: “Since the UAE authorities issued two announcements, the price of air travel leaving the subcontinent has been very high. Most people interested in travel are job seekers. The high prices may prevent them from traveling at the moment. Because they may not be able to afford it.”

However, Naseer said that market trends look very positive. “The airline’s load factor is also very good. All flights are fully loaded with passengers returning to the UAE. This is also a good sign for future bookings.”

Opportunities for Expo 2020

For job seekers, the opportunities they may find at the Expo 2020 are one of the main reasons for their strong interest in travel.

Rashid Abbas, Managing Director of Arooha Travels, said: “Compared with other Emirates airports, Dubai has the highest travel demand. The rules are flexible, and those who are unemployed from April to July want to try it here.” Abbas It also stated that the demand for visit visas is very high. “We apply for at least 500 visitor visas every day,” he added.

Sudheesh TP, General Manager of Deira Tours and Travels, said: “Dubai’s hotel room rates have also risen, but not by much. I suspect that interest rates may be higher in the next few days. The UAE is seen as a land full of opportunities and excitement. Travellers too. Think of this country as a safe haven against Covid-19.”

He added: “Indian travel agencies are launching attractive packages for tourists from India, especially since they have been closed since March 2020.”
