LAS VEGAS (GRAY NEWS) — Universal Pictures’ new horror entertainment experience will be showing permanently in Las Vegas.
Universal Parks and Resorts announced the plan Wednesday, saying the year-round spooky experience will be reminiscent of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.
The experience will be part of a new 20-acre expansion of the immersive AREA15 entertainment district in Las Vegas, which first opened in September 2020.
The new concept marks the first time Universal has created a permanent horror experience outside of its theme parks.
according to the press releasethe project will include “a variety of unique, immersive and fantastic horror-centric experiences that revolve around high-energy food and drink spaces by day and transform into haunting bars and restaurants by night.”
“We’re excited to offer our global fan base another way to feel the fear and have fun in the heart of Las Vegas, the perfect place for a unique concept like this,” said Paige Thompson, president of Universal Parks and New Ventures. resort.
Details are limited at this time, and Universal hasn’t revealed the name of the experience or an opening date.
News of Wednesday’s horrific experience in Las Vegas came with a second announcement from Universal Pictures. The company also said it plans to open a new family-friendly theme park in Frisco, Texas.
Universal is also working on a massive expansion of its Orlando resort. A third theme park called Universal’s Epic Universe will be added to the two existing theme parks — Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. After delays due to the COVID-19 scare, Universal Pictures said Epic Universe is expected to open sometime in 2025.
