Set in an idealized 1930s Paris, “It’s My Crime” brings together a sprawling cast led by a pair of up-and-coming actors Nadia Treskiewicz (“Forever Young”), Rebecca Mulder (“Simone”), with Isabelle HuppertFabrice Luchini, André Dussolier, Dany Boon and Félix Lefebvre.

This Is My Crime has been awarded in Canada (Sphere Films), Spain (Caramel), Italy (BIM), Greece (Filmtrade), Germany (Welkino), Austria (Filmladen), Benelux (September Films), Switzerland (Filmcoopi), Bulgaria (Cinelibri), Hungary (Vertigo), Baltics, Commonwealth of Independent States (A-One), Ukraine (Arthouse Traffic), Romania (Independenta Film) and former Yugoslavia (MCF).

Playtime secured the deals after showing the script to buyers in the U.S. film market. The company is seeking sales on Unifrance Rendez-Vous. Regions that remain open include North America and Asia.

Nicolas Brigaud, Playtime partner, said: “Buyers who attended the Paris premiere were very interested in the film, noting that it is similar to Francois Ozon’s There are similarities between “Potiche” and “8 Women,” his highest-rated and highest-grossing films.” Robert.

It’s My Crime, a love letter to film and theater, tells the story of Madeleine, a beautiful, young, penniless actress accused of murdering a famous producer. With the help of her best friend, out-of-work attorney Pauline, she is acquitted on self-defense grounds and becomes a star as well as a feminist icon.

“It’s My Crime” Ozon reunites with his longtime producers Eric and Nicolas Altmayer at Mandarin Cinema. Starring creative team includes costume designer Pascaline Chavanet (“8 Women,” “Officers and Spies”), Oscar-nominated production designer Jean La Paz (“Vatel,” “Jackie”) and Manou Dakos (“Peter von Kant”). The film marks Ozon’s follow-up to “Peter von Kant,” which opened at the 2022 Berlinale. The director’s previous credits include “Pool,” which went to Cannes and won the European Film Award for Best Actress at the European Film Awards for Charlotte Rampling, and the BAFTA-nominated “Potiche.”
