The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Outstanding Academic Performance has announced the results of the “Innovators’ Competition 2022”, in which people of all ages participated.
The organizers of the competition received 157 entries from participants aged 9 to 15 through the “Fab Lab UAE” website. Six winning entries and fifteen outstanding ideas were recognized.
Winning projects in this category included Ajman High School of Applied Technology student Asmaa Abdullah Al-Shehhi’s ‘Sign Language’ project, Jumeirah School student Jawaher Abdullah Rashad’s ‘Energy Challenge’ project, ‘Henna Installation’ by Martyrs’ School student Afnan Haitham Ismail Projects, Khaled Walid Al-Awadi’s “Shadow Bag” project from Al-Rashidiya School, the “Smart Medicine Medal” project from Masafi School student Ghanem Muhammad Al-Suraidi in the second cycle and secondary education, and Dubai National School student Hamad Salah Amin’s “Fruitful Farm” project.

For the 18 and above age group, the participating teams consisted of 35 teams from various colleges and universities across the country, and the jury selected 4 winning teams, Baraa Hamdi Musa Al-Jilani’s ‘The BotPot’ project and Ahmed Fathi Ahmed Abu Issa, Project “Bright Light” by Saeed Saqir Saeed Al Shehhi, Abdul Rahman Tariq Al Shamsi and Hamdan Marwan Abdullah Al Shehhi, and Project “Rescue” by Israa bint Adel bin Munawar, Hajar bint Adel bin Munawar and Muhammad Faiq Muhammad and by Saleh bin The Plant Care project presented by Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Suhail.
Dr Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Academic Excellence, said: “The ‘Innovators Competition’ is one of the foundation’s groundbreaking initiatives to support talent and encourage them to showcase their innovations and ideas, turn them into tangible reality and apply them for the benefit of society.
“Besides fulfilling the vision of the wise leadership to promote and spread a culture of creativity and innovation, this will help support all efforts and efforts being made by the country’s universities and scientific research institutions to produce a generation of creative and innovative graduates. It also helps strengthen the UAE’s position as a global destination for talent and innovative talent.”
