global production giant fremantle Andrew Llinares has been appointed as Global Director of Entertainment.
Llinares will be based in London and report to group chief executive Jennifer Mullin, succeeding Rob Clark, who will retire at the end of February after 20 years with the company.The role gives the executive overall responsibility for Fremantle’s vast global entertainment production, development and acquisitions team, working with them to build hit franchises including talented, Idol, X factor, too hot to handle, masked singer and I can see your voice. Linares’ hire comes less than two weeks after Fremantle promoted Christian Vesper to chief executive of global theater companies to oversee the firm’s broad portfolio of script production companies up.
A seasoned executive producer, Linares has a long history with Freemantle.He was previously Head of UK Thames/Syco co-production and was X factor and Britain’s Got Talent They were first launched in the UK in 2004 and 2007 respectively. Since 2011, while living and working in the United States, he also served as executive producer and producer of the American version. X-factor, Before becoming EP and showrunner dancing with the stars 2018.
