ABB, the technology leader in electrification and automation, has launched an intelligent building management system (BMS) for the Middle East at the Light Middle East and Intelligent Building Middle East 2023 event that kicked off the Dubai World Trade Fair today (January 17) center.
Over the next three days, ABB will showcase other key products from its smart building vertical, including the new Zenit wiring device range, ABB i-bus KNX, ABB SmartTouch 10, [email protected] and emergency lighting.
ABB’s Cylon portfolio of intelligent building management systems covers scalable automation and energy control for commercial or industrial buildings of all sizes.
BMS enables buildings to automate functions and reduce energy costs through energy control and management. It also allows real-time monitoring of building facilities.
Announcing its launch, Thamer Al Omari, Product Marketing Director for Smart Buildings, said: “We are proud to present our total integrated smart building solution, ABB Cylon BMS, at this year’s event. It is our latest offering in the smart building vertical. Building management, which provides customers with smarter and more efficient building integrated solutions.”
“ABB also has a wide range of products and solutions, from building management systems to traditional cabling equipment which we will be showcasing at Light ME and Intelligent Business ME 2023,” he said.
ABB acquired Cylon Controls in 2020 and its product range, which includes HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) controls and building energy management systems.
He added that ABB has since integrated Cylon Controls’ smart building portfolio into its offerings, enabling them to provide real-time data, operational analytics and integrated applications for efficient and sustainable building management.
According to him, ABB is a long-time supporter of the Light + Building event, as it provides an excellent platform to meet and network with partners and customers.
“This year is a great opportunity to showcase our latest building technology to the Middle East, as the region is known for its ever-changing skylines, with many new architectural wonders added every year. It’s also a great opportunity for us to discuss the role of building infrastructure to Achieve our mission to be carbon neutral by 2030,” he said.
ABB said its Cylon BMS offers a comprehensive approach to smart building management by seamlessly connecting and integrating multiple BMS solutions to ensure optimal building management and monitoring.
With smart air conditioning, heating and emergency lighting, it can ensure greater energy efficiency, a higher level of safety and maximize occupant comfort and health, it said.
Al Omari said ABB is using smart building solutions to address the growing carbon footprint of buildings around the world, as they consume more than 30% of the world’s energy while emitting 40% of the world’s carbon emissions.
Through its “Mission to Zero” program, ABB aims to use smart energy and asset management to make any building energy-efficient and carbon-neutral, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.-TradeArabia News Service
