However, the record for most consecutive holes played is held by Harold Varner III, who hit a staggering 32 consecutive pars. His opening-round par 71 at the 2020 Phoenix Waste Management Open followed with a second-round 14-par, a record that won’t be broken anytime soon.
Hatton was hoping for some early birdies to start his second round as he tries to recapture another Rolex Series win.
The 31-year-old will hope to impress Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald this week as he aims to make his third consecutive appearance in the biennial tournament after making his debut in 2018 and losing in 2021.
