Emirati telecommunications providers du and Etisalat (e&) have signed a corporate agreement with Abu Dhabi-listed developer Aldar Properties.
Under the developer’s master agreement (MDA), the two companies will provide telecommunications infrastructure for the project in Aldar under the UAE’s Taawun scheme, according to a statement on Monday.
Du and Etisalat will install, maintain and oversee state-of-the-art fixed telecommunications services and solutions developed by Aldar in Abu Dhabi, including Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Raha and Reem Island. These projects also include government housing and infrastructure development.
Taawun seeks to support the government’s vision to develop smart infrastructure and provide customers with an opportunity to choose their preferred operator for their telecommunications needs.
“By developing an advanced telecommunications infrastructure, residents of Aldar will be able to choose their own service provider and gain access to the latest fiber optic and advanced 5G communication solutions,” the statement said.
“This will help transform these communities into smart, sustainable and high-quality living areas for residents with modern lifestyles.”
Aldar recently launched latest project, A sustainable community in Abu Dhabi to capitalize on the growing demand for eco-friendly living options.
Yas Island’s sustainable cities project achieved 100% sales within 24 hours of its public launch.
