Norway-based offshore crane maker Red Rock said on Monday it had received an order for the delivery of a 40-ton active heave-compensated offshore crane.
The crane will be delivered from Red Rock’s workshop in Poland in the first quarter of 2023. After the tests, the crane will be shipped to the United Arab Emirates, Red Rock said, without identifying the customer.
“The new crane order demonstrates that Red Rock is a trusted partner for mission-critical equipment for vessel owners. The crane is custom designed with a telescope extending 45 meters”, said Thomas HoltChief Commercial Officer, Hongyan.
Financial details were not disclosed.

In other related news from Red Rock, earlier in January the company successfully tested the first of a series of three auxiliary cranes for Jan De Nul’s next-generation offshore installation vessel, Les Alizés.
The crane was custom designed for the vessel, with a short main boom and telescoping knuckle boom.
In the parked position, the crane has a minimal footprint and there will be more deck space available on board for offshore wind mission equipment.
The crane has a SWL of 40 tons and a maximum reach of 30 meters. The crane is equipped with a personnel hoist, constant tension and active heave compensation.
As previously reported, Jan De Nul said last week that the Les Alizés had left the China Merchants Haimen shipyard in China and was heading to Europe.
The vessel was delivered by the shipyard on 16th January and departed on Thursday 19th January.
Les Alizés is specially designed for loading, transporting, lifting and installing offshore wind turbine foundations.
