PETA defends Kylie Jenner’s controversial lion head look.

The 25-year-old reality star wowed animal lovers and fans alike when she wore a black velvet gown with a huge, lifelike fake lion face at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture show on Monday (23/01/23) The uproar marked the beginning for animal lovers. Paris fashion week.

She was slammed by some fans for promoting the hunt, with one saying “animals are not trophies”, while others said they were disturbed by the idea that the head “could be real”.

But animal rights activists are now defending her look, which promoted the “three-dimensional animal heads” of Schiaparelli’s collection, which Naomi Campbell and Irina Shayk also wore at Schiaparelli’s Paris Fashion Week show on Monday.

Ingrid Newkirk, chair of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, said: “The appearance of Kylie, Naomi and Irina celebrates the beauty of wild animals and could be a statement against trophy hunting in which lions and wolves are torn apart to satisfy human egocentrism.

“We encourage everyone to stick to 100% cruelty-free designs that showcase human ingenuity and prevent animal suffering.”

Ingrid also urged Kylie and other celebrities to eliminate other fabrics from their wardrobes.

She added that they should “extend this creativity” to “exclude wool bloodied for wool and silkworms boiled alive in their cocoons”.

In addition to the lion’s head worn by Kylie, Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 collection includes garments with lifelike leopard and wolf heads in homage to the three beasts from Dante’s Inferno.

Kylie emphasized that the lion head is “faux” and “artificial” in her Instagram post showing off the costume.

Schiaparelli defended his design in two Instagram posts on the fashion house’s account, saying the animal heads in the Paris show were made of “hand-carved foam” and “wool and silk faux fur” and were “hand-painted to look Be as lifelike as possible, celebrating the glory of the natural world”.

The caption on the post said: “No animals were harmed making this look.”
