In 2022, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will operate more than 6,000 flights and carry more than 1.2 million passengers.
The airline reported its operating results for the past year on Friday.
The airline will carry more than 600,000 point-to-point passengers to the UAE in 2022, the official news agency said Wan reports.
Wizz Air currently flies from Abu Dhabi to 36 destinations in 25 different countries and is preparing to further accelerate and expand operations in 2023, the airline added.
Michael Berlouis, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, said: “We are proud of all that we have achieved in this record-breaking year and are delighted to have carried over one million passengers.”
“Our incredible growth in 2022 reflects our commitment to making travel affordable for everyone and continues to drive the growth of the UAE’s thriving tourism industry.”
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has doubled its fleet size from four new A321-neo aircraft to eight. The average fleet age is one year.
The carrier recently started operating to several destinations. Its maiden flight landed at Ankara’s Esenboga Airport on January 19.

It also launched its first flights to Male, Maldives, and Kuwait in October.

Wizz Air Holdings also plans to build a fleet of 50 aircraft at a new unit in Saudi Arabia by the end of the decade.
