The MQM supreme leader criticized Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammed Asif’s statement, saying it was a hopeful sign that people were holding protest rallies to condemn the terrorist group.
Hussain said Khawaja Muhammed Asif did not hold the armed forces accountable for failing to contain the terrorist threat.
He criticized the current government led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the genocide of the Muhajar people in Karachi and other Muhajar-populated cities. He called PML-N an enemy because all military repression against Mohajar was carried out under the leadership of PML-N government.
Hussain said it was MQM that introduced the concept of local guards, where people perform vigilance services themselves without any financial burden on any government.
After the Peshawar mosque bombing, a faction of the TTP claimed responsibility for the attack, but hours later a TTP spokesman distanced himself from the claim on Twitter and said their policy does not include attacks on mosques, according to Dawn reports.
