Global process instrumentation manufacturer and supplier Krohne has introduced the Optibar 5060 eDP, adding an electronic differential pressure (eDP) version to its Optibar series.
It targets level, density and differential pressure applications in closed vessels and density compensated level measurement in open storage tanks.
Compared to classic DP installations with diaphragm seals and capillaries, the Optibar 5060 eDP offers a cost-effective connection and installation of vessels: it requires smaller process connections and the connections between taps are via electronic signal cables instead of realized by oil-filled capillaries.
maximum distance
The Optibar 5060 eDP starts with a G½ process connection with a maximum distance of 25 m / 75 ft between the top and bottom section connections. Thus, cost and installation and maintenance time can be saved, especially for tall vessels requiring long capillaries.
For the eDP version, many features of the regular Optibar 5060 series are available, such as optional Bluetooth communication via smartphone or tablet (using the Opticheck Pressure Mobile app). It can be configured with metallic or ceramic process diaphragms, a wide range of (hygienic) process connections, various communication options (up to FF and Profibus-PA) and housing materials from plastic to stainless steel.
Speaking at the launch, Frank Janssens, Krohne Vice President Middle East and Africa, said: “We are delighted to welcome this new addition to the product portfolio as it enables our valued customers to leverage efficiencies throughout their processes while still relying on quality to build trusted Engineering is an added value associated with the Krohne brand. Our Solutions and Services division has seen acceptance and interest in the development and, as a result, increased customer satisfaction.”
The Optibar 5060 eDP also features integrated static pressure measurement which provides additional process information. It has various industry-specific approvals and is SIL 2/3 certified, and the SIL mode can be activated remotely via the display, DTM or Bluetooth. — trade arab news agency
