[ad_1]

Visa, the global leader in digital payments, and the Dubai Business Women’s Council (DBWC), Dubai’s leading platform for business women, have co-hosted an event on women overcoming professional, business and sporting challenges to become effective leaders.

The meeting was held at DBWC headquarters and was moderated by Nadine Halabi, DBWC Business Development Manager.

The event, which brings together business and professional women from different sectors of the UAE’s business landscape, sheds light on the importance of building professional networks and a business environment to promote women’s empowerment globally.

Based on her lessons learned in professional and business leadership, Mundy shares her experience as a professional ocean sailor who has competed in two Whitbread Round the World Yacht Races. Mundy is the first all-female crew member to compete and she is a proud member of the Maiden.

“Inclusion and empowerment are at the heart of Visa’s values, and we believe in the power of women entrepreneurs to drive economic development,” said Mundy. “That’s why we’re committed to leveraging our brands and capabilities to help drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth.” With This event at DBWC is part of a wider conversation about how we are advancing women’s leadership globally, and I welcome the opportunity to share my own experiences and insights with the UAE’s business and professional community.”

Halabi said: “DBWC connects the women’s business community around the world, represents Dubai’s diverse and balanced workforce, and shares Visa’s vision of helping women leaders take their success to new heights. DBWC looks forward to establishing Stronger networks of working women, developing mentoring programs that support women’s growth, and engaging key decision makers will help women grow and thrive in today’s evolving ecosystem, opening up more avenues to support women’s economic advancement.”

According to the World Economic Forum, empowering women to participate equally in the global economy could add $28 trillion to GDP growth by 2025. Initiatives by Visa to support the company’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment include the launch of the global She’s Next initiative, the first to support women entrepreneurs in the UAE until 2022. Since 2020, Visa has invested more than $2.2 million globally through the She’s Next program, providing more than 200 grants and training to women SMB owners.-TradeArabia News Service
