New York [US]Feb. 6 (ANI): A 3.8-magnitude earthquake rocked Buffalo, New York, Monday morning, the US Geological Survey reported.

“Notable earthquake, preliminary information: M 3.8 – 2 km ENE West Seneca, NY,” the USGS tweeted.

The quake was detected around 6:15 a.m. in the town of West Seneca, outside Buffalo, according to the New York Post.

The National Weather Service said it was unclear if any damage was caused by the quake, which was “very strongly felt by many in the Buffalo, New York, area.”

Surveillance cameras in the area captured a loud bang in a living room when the quake hit, followed by the sound of falling objects and dogs barking, according to the New York Post.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said he spoke with the county Department of Homeland Security and emergency services and said “the quake was felt as far north as Niagara Falls and as far south as Orchard Park based on initial reports.” (Arnie)
