A total of 8,775 free breast cancer screenings were conducted across the UAE as the Pink Caravan kicked off its annual ride on Saturday. Of the 8,775 screenings, 8,467 were performed at regular clinics that began welcoming women and men on January 20. A total of 308 free screenings were conducted at dedicated mammography units on the first day of the campaign in Sharjah and Ajman.

On Sunday, pink activists trotted through popular neighborhoods in Dubai, including DIFC Gate Avenue, Marasi Drive, Skydive Dubai, JBR and City Walk, to engage and sensitize the community. A mobile medical clinic offering mammograms on the go is in La Mer and will remain there until 10pm, while temporary walk-in clinics – open today only – are in City Walk and Dubai Frame .

The permanent clinics, located at the Al Barsha branch of Lulu Hypermarket and Mirdif City Centre, will continue to offer specialist consultations and check-ups in Dubai for longer periods of time.
