UAE National Meteorological Center predicts heavy rain over weekend

Heavy wind and rain hit the UAE over the weekend. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, took time out of his busy schedule to drive around the emirate and enjoy the cool weather— — and a hot meal.

On Saturday, he posted video clips of himself driving in the rain on Instagram, while enjoying an outdoor picnic. The clips show a meal being carefully prepared on a carpet inside a tent set up somewhere in the desert, but with a view of the Dubai skyline.

It rained heavily in Dubai on Saturday morning, with showers continuing throughout the day.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the severe weather is expected to continue over the weekend, with heavy rain and flooding expected in northern parts of the country.
