Passengers from this country must undergo a Covid-19 PCR test 48 hours before departure
Flydubai stated on its website that passengers travelling from Ethiopia to Dubai do not need to obtain prior approval from the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) or the General Directorate of Residence and Aliens Affairs (GDRFA).
The announced budget stated that passengers from Ethiopia are required to undergo a Covid-19 PCR test 48 hours before flight departure and a rapid PCR test within 6 hours after boarding.
In an update on its website, the budget airline announced that Ethiopian passengers also need to submit a Covid-19 PCR test report with a QR code.
These new rules will take effect on September 4, 2021.
As the new Covid-19 declines, the UAE has relaxed travel restrictions on the Indian subcontinent and many countries in Africa. The increase in vaccination has also brought confidence to the global tourism industry.
The Dubai-based airline announced that passengers must also present a printed copy of a negative Covid-19 PCR test result in English or Arabic obtained from an approved medical center.
It requires all passengers to check in seven hours before flight departure and carry 1,200 Ethiopian birr (96.5 dirhams) to pay for rapid PCR testing.
In addition, they must conduct another test after arriving at Dubai International Airport. However, children under 12 and passengers with moderate to severe disabilities are exempt from the Covid-19 test.
Last week, flydubai announced that passengers who book tickets between September 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 and fly to Dubai from October 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022, will be eligible Free one-day ticket to Expo 2020.
