As a group of cultural philanthropists gathered together with the common desire to support UAE art, Friends of the Arts Abu Dhabi will strengthen and enhance our existing Beyond: Emerging Artists program in exciting new ways this year.”

Anyone who wants to actively support UAE artists and the art ecosystem can also apply to join the program through the web. All members must pay an annual membership fee, and the funds raised can be commissioned for new works of art through the Abu Dhabi Art Center. We joined because we are committed to supporting the art of the UAE, and we look forward to ensuring wider community participation and connecting with the thriving local art world. Earlier this month , I participated in Sam Bardaouil’s curatorial speech. Their work left a deep impression on me, and I am very happy to see what new conversations their contributions have generated this year.”

Nadia Sehweil, Co-Director of Friends of the Arts Abu Dhabi and CEO of Bodytree Wellness, added: “Friends of the Arts Abu Dhabi is not limited to financial support. This is to encourage community members to conduct independent activities for the benefit of the local arts ecosystem. The global arts and culture sector needs to find sustainable ways to recover and become more adaptable in the post-pandemic era. The Friends of Abu Dhabi Art will play an important role in plans to strengthen the arts in Abu Dhabi, and through Abu Dhabi Art Provide a platform for funding, knowledge exchange and network planning for different participants in the industry.”
