Netflix you Actor Penn Badgley revealed on Thursday’s Podcrushed podcast why he doesn’t want to continue filming intimate scenes in season 4.
you is a psychological crime thriller about Bagley as Joe Goldberg, an obsessive charmer who falls in love with a series of women so much that he ends up murdering them.
“I asked Sera Gamble if I could do some more intimate scenes,” he told his co-star Nava Kavelin on the Stitcher Studios podcast.
The 36-year-old actor revealed why he didn’t want to do any intimate scenes in the fourth season: “It was actually a decision I made before I took the show. I don’t think I ever mentioned it publicly. “
“One of the main questions is, do I want to get myself back on my career path where I’ve always played the romantic lead?”
“Fidelity is important to me in every relationship, including my marriage,” Badgley continued.
He went on to explain further, “It got to the point where I didn’t want to do that. So I said to Sera, ‘My wish is zero, from 100 to zero.’ “But I signed this contract. I signed up for this show. I know what I did. You can’t take that aspect out of the DNA of a concept. So how much less can you do, that’s the question I ask them?”
“She didn’t even bat an eye. She was genuinely happy that I was being so honest. She was kind of, I would say empowered, and it got a very positive response. There was an amazing reduction when they came back.” He added up.
Badgley’s character will travel to London in the first part of season 4, starting over in a new role as Professor Johnathan Moore.
Season 4, Part 1 of the highly anticipated show premiered on Thursday, February 9, 2023, with Part 2 on March 9, 2023.
