Provide free services and space for these families so that they can sell their products throughout the year.

Since the program was launched in 2009, more than 2,800 UAE households-who have been selling their goods under the government’s Al Sanaa project-have earned more than 60 million dirhams.

The Al Sanaa project of the Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) has been expanding over the years, and this year the total number of family members has reached 2,805. In the first half of 2021, 43 families signed the plan.

Afra Buhumaid, Director of MoCD Productive Families, explained that Al Sanaa is a development project that supports productive UAE families, including social security recipients and determined people.

Through this plan, low-income and middle-class families have the opportunity to establish and develop micro-enterprises. Buhumaid said the goal is to help improve their living conditions and revitalize the heritage industry.

These families mainly exhibit their products in the Al Sanaa pavilion of the Global Village every year. Buhumaid said that their income from the festival park alone reached 44.9 million dirhams.

They also participated in exhibitions across the country, from which they earned 13.5 million dirhams, while those who participated in permanent exhibitions in the mall earned 1.7 million dirhams.

Their products range from perfumes, accessories and clothing to food and home decor.

Buhumaid said that from perfumes, accessories and clothing to food, household goods and decorations, the Al Sanaa Pavilion has displayed approximately 25,000 products.

“These products are designed in a creative and innovative way-a fusion of the past and the present, and cater to different members of the community.”

Al Sanaa members also have the opportunity to promote their products at foreign exhibitions.

“We continue to support productive UAE families by participating in exhibitions held in Arab and foreign countries,” the official added.

They also provide training courses aimed at improving the skills of Emirati and hone their talents. To date, 471 such seminars have been held, attended by nearly 9,000 Emirati.

The UAE is the first Arab country to provide free services to families and sell products throughout the year.

Earlier this year, MoCD upgraded Al Sanaa membership programs and services, replacing all printed cards with electronic cards. New smart functions have also been introduced.
