WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 (AP) — President Joe Biden has fired the embattled Capitol Architect, the official who oversees the U.S. Capitol complex, officials said.
Brett Blanton’s appointment has been terminated, the White House said on Monday.
That comes as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he had lost confidence in Blanton’s ability to get the job done.
An inspector general report released last year found “administrative, ethical and policy violations” by Brandon, including his misuse of government vehicles and false representation of himself as a law enforcement official.
