UAE-Pakistan flights: Airblue launches service on Ras Al Khaimah-Lahore segment-News

Pakistan’s largest private airline plans to open flights from Al Ain soon.

Due to the surge in passenger demand following the relaxation of visa and travel restrictions by the UAE authorities, Pakistan’s largest private airline, airblue, launched a new service from Ras Al Khaimah to Lahore.

The airline’s first flight from the capital of Punjab Province in Pakistan arrived on Sunday night and returned to the historic city with a full load early on Monday.

“As passenger demand increases, we initially planned to fly on the Lahore-RAK-Lahore route twice a week,” Blue Air UAE Country Manager Sohail Sheikh told Haiji Times on Monday.

Amer Alazaiza, head of commerce at Ras Al Khaimah Airport, welcomed the inaugural flight from Lahore at Ras Al Khaimah Airport on Sunday evening.

Ras Al Khaimah Airport Chief Financial Officer Chandrashekhar Deshmukh; Ras Al Khaimah Airport Cargo Director Vishwajeet Thanik and other senior officials also attended the meeting.

Airblue has more than 40 flights every week from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah to major cities in Pakistan. It also plans to expand its UAE network after travel returns to normal.

“We plan to launch another service from Al Ain to Peshawar. The proposal is still under consideration and will be finalized in the next few days,” Sheikh said.

The Islamabad-based airline operates an all-air passenger fleet of 9 aircraft including A320-200 and A321-200. It also ordered two A321neo aircraft.

In response to a question, Blue Air’s country manager said that after assessing demand, the airline may increase flights from Ras Al Khaimah to Lahore, or introduce new destinations in Pakistan.

“Before making any decisions, we will assess the needs of passengers from Ras Al Khaimah to Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar,” Sheikh said.

Pakistan International Airlines also began operating flights from Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi to Ras Al Khaimah on August 28. It also operates flights from all major cities in Pakistan to different emirates in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
