Ahead of its new streaming series “Daisy Jones and the Six,” which premieres on Friday, March 3, Prime Video released a 2:45 trailer for some of the Louisiana-shot projects.
The musical is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name.
“It tells the story of an iconic band of the 1970s, led by two feuding but charismatic frontmen, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunn. They were brought together by their personal and artistic chemistry, Their complex musical partnership catapulted the band from obscurity to fame,” according to the press release. “Then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they abruptly called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members have finally agreed to reveal the truth.”
The series shot last year in New Orleans and Hammond, and also in Los Angeles with Greece’s Athens and Hydra.
Daisy starring Riley Keogh (granddaughter of Elvis Presley), Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Camilla Morrone as Camilla Dunne, Will Harrison As Graham Dunn, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Serco, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Rowtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be stars as Simone Jackson, Tom Wright as Teddy Price, and Timothy Olyphant makes a special cameo as Rod Reyes.
Reese Witherspoon is one of the series’ executive producers.
Interestingly, there are 24 original songs written exclusively for the series and recorded by the cast. The tracks will be released by Atlantic Records during the series launch.
Three episodes of the 10-episode freshman season will be released on Prime Video on March 3, three more on March 10, and two each on March 17 and 24.
