Press release, Tewkesbury, 16 February 2023: Allen-Vanguard, a global leader in custom solutions for combating radio frequency (RF)-based terrorist and extremist threats, continues to supply and develop life-saving ECM equipment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through its partner TRUST International and Capability LLC (TIG). Allen-Vanguard will be exhibiting at IDEX 23, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, 20-24 February 2023.
With a primary focus on military and defense products, Trust International has been catering to the needs of the UAE Armed Forces and other government agencies since 2004, specializing in sourcing suitable products, services, spare parts and integrated solutions. TRUST International supports the supply of Allen-Vanguard’s world-renowned ANCILE Counter-UAV System (C-UAS) / Counter-UAV System and SCORPION Portable EOD ECM to enhance and improve the UAE’s defense capabilities in terms of electronic countermeasures.
The use of drones for nefarious purposes is proliferating. Especially in conventional and asymmetric warfare, it is increasingly used for close range target reconnaissance and as a weapons delivery system; as witnessed in the current conflict. ANCILE, developed by Allen-Vanguard, provides excellent RF suppression against a wide variety of commercial drones available. The system can be updated remotely using optimized suppression waveforms designed and developed from global threat intelligence gathered by our Threat Management Team (TMT). When optimized, ANCILE ensures robust and effective 360-degree no-fly zones for applications such as convoy protection, bases of operations, and static installations.
Allen-Vanguard’s Field Service Representatives (FSRs) work with partners to support customers in creating fully integrated onboard ANCILE capabilities that can be quickly transferred (5 minutes) to ground systems to provide simple yet robust protection zones. The system has previously been successfully deployed at the G7 and other similar major events in the region. Additionally, Allen-Vanguard supplied their SCORPION portable ECM system, which is in service with the most renowned bomb disposal teams in Europe, the Middle East and the Southern Hemisphere; a first of its kind in the UAE.
Allen-Vanguard is committed to building indigenous capabilities that are locally owned and operated so that sovereign nations have the operational autonomy to detect, protect and deter terrorist threats, all supported by Allen-Vanguard’s best-in-class technical training and support infrastructure and their partner. This initial capability and support for the UAE is the first step in the process. The intent is to increase the necessary connections with local defense partners and academia so that regional initiatives can support all aspects of ECM capabilities from manufacturing and assembly to the most critical aspects of threat management and advanced mitigation technologies.
