New attractions for Expo 2020 Dubai: inverted waterfall, viewing tower with “flying park”-News

The water feature will be scored with orchestral music by the composer of the theme music of “Game of Thrones”

Organizers announced that one of the attractions of the recently unveiled Expo 2020 site will be that water can resist gravity and flow upwards. Water, earth and fire constitute the stunning “Expo 2020 Waterscape”, which will feature orchestral scores from the award-winning “Game of Thrones” theme music composer.

The organizer said: “Experience the huge pieces of water rolling down from a 13-meter-high vertical wall. During the day, the water flows into a mysterious multi-colored circle of fire. At night, it flows upward to resist gravity.”

This is because the Expo team announced more detailed information about the two new attractions that appeared on the scene. Another attraction is a 55-meter-high “Sky Garden” observation tower and a “flying park”, visited by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Up the attraction. September 1st website.

Here is everything you need to know about the new attractions.

Waterscape of Expo 2020

The waterscape of Expo 2020 is located between Al Wasl Square and Jubilee Park, combining the elements of water, earth and fire.

“Visitors from Al Wasl Square enter a 40-meter-wide verdant garden with towering palm trees and fragrant plants that grow on a series of curved paths that surround the central water feature. Like ripples in a pond. A huge planting wall rises around this feature, and three openings lead to the central area, bringing visitors below the ground,” said the Expo 2020 team.

The 153 individual waves range from shimmering sheets to water waves that “jump off the walls as they descend dramatically into the square below.”

Visitors can walk to the bottom of the waterfall to see how the water disappears through the stones. “At night, the waves will reverse themselves-as they flow up the wall, it creates an anti-gravity spectacle.”

The center of this function is a “mysterious circle of fire”, which produces huge flames of red, green and yellow tones. In keeping with the sustainability theme of Expo 2020, these huge flames are pure hydrogen and therefore do not produce carbon.

Each time the gushing water is released with musical cues, creating an orchestral masterpiece performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The original work was composed by the award-winning composer Ramin Djawadi. His work includes the theme music of the HBO series “Game of Thrones”, which allowed him to be awarded in 2009, 2018 and 2020. Nominated for the Lamy Awards.

The feature was created by California-based WET Design, which has built some of the most iconic fountains and water features in the world, including the dancing fountains at Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Sky garden

According to the Expo 2020 team, the sky garden is a viewing tower and “flying park”. It provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the 4.38 square kilometers of the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

Ten Peltophorum inerme trees (also known as yellow flame trees) are planted on the upper level of the tower in Jubilee Park, which are connected to the lower level by stairs.

The two-story interconnected cabins rotate as the visitors rise and fall.

In addition to the observation tower, London-based Asif Khan’s work at Expo 2020 also includes three entrance portals to the site, which are designed using ultra-light carbon fiber composite lines; and its public domain.

Jubilee Park

The design of Jubilee Park is based on a dry river, a seasonal river that regains life in the desert after heavy rains.
