Emirates will be the first title sponsor of a three-year sponsorship in partnership with the world’s leading sailing team, the Great Britain SailGP Team, taking place in Sydney on 18-19 February.
Emirates’ iconic ‘Fly Better’ logo will appear on the Great British F50 racing yacht, with prominent branding on the wings and in the center of the hull. The airline’s iconic logo will also appear on the front and back of team apparel, nautical apparel and gear.

Under the sponsorship agreement, the airline will enjoy a wide range of benefits including: marketing, digital and social media rights; VIP hospitality tickets; meet and greet athletes, including Sir Ben Ainsley and Hannah Mills (OBE) , who are the most awarded male and female Olympic sailors in the world; and exclusive opportunities such as the ‘Sixth Sailor Experience’, which gives Emirati fans hands-on experience on the water.
Sail into a sustainable future
In line with the UAE’s declaration of 2023 as the “Year of Sustainability” – the new sponsorship will also provide further opportunities for Emirates and the British Sailing Grand Prix team to drive a joint global environmental movement with the common goal of reducing emissions, responsible consumption and conservation of environmental biodiversity.
The 1851 Trust is a target partner for the Emirates Great Britain SailGP team who have announced their ambition to inspire 3 million young people to take action to protect nature, people and the planet through the ‘Protect Our Future’ climate digital education platform.
Leading renewable energy company Low Carbon has just signed a three-year partnership with the team and will support the 1851 Trust in producing world-class, climate-focused educational resources to inspire and support young people to take action, while Building global community climate champions.
Emirates and the UK SailGP team will also support wider sustainability issues such as gender equality. SailGP has launched a women’s pathway to create an inclusive sporting championship with gender equality at its core – with the best athletes having an equal opportunity to compete in F50. The Emirates Group also recently signed the UAE Gender Balance Council pledge, committing to increasing the representation of women in leadership positions to 30% by 2025.
On the global sailing calendar, the Emirates British Grand Prix team will take part in the remainder of Season 3 of the Grand Prix, with the iconic Emirates-branded F50 sailing in Sydney, Christchurch and San Francisco on 6-7 May To be featured in the finals held in 2023.
