Local authorities have opened a modern emergency department at a private hospital in Abu Dhabi’s Mussafah industrial zone.
Officials from Mussafah Municipality, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Civil Defense and the Emirates Red Crescent opened Ahalia Hospital’s 24/7 emergency room with 10 beds and 17 doctors.
“This hospital is one of the best in the region, always prioritizing and ensuring the health and safety of all community members. I am confident that the emergency room will provide excellent care,” said Hameed Al Marzouqi from Mussafah Municipality.
State-of-the-art ambulances from the Civil Defense will be stationed outside the hospital. Sultan Al Shamsi of the Civil Defense pointed to the hospital’s strategic location close to the highway as a key factor.
“Accidents are frequently reported on this highway and now emergency rooms will be able to provide immediate treatment for such cases,” Al Shamsi said, referring to the hospital’s proximity to busy Al Rawdah Road, the main entrance into Mussafah.
The hospital is also close to the workers’ village and some commercial establishments, shops and residential areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Al Hadir of Musaffah Abu Dhabi Police noted that emergency departments will be able to serve residents, including blue-collar workers in industrial areas.
“After the accident, we received a lot of emergency calls from the area. We are very happy that the hospital is starting to provide such a service,” Al Hadir noted.
Dr Khawaja Ahsan Manzoor, director of the emergency department, noted that the emergency department is equipped with modern equipment and can provide high-quality medical care.
“The emergency department has 10 beds, two consultants, three specialists and 12 general practitioners. We have an excellent skill set and extensive experience. The team ensures compassionate, safe and timely care for all patients service,” Dr. Manzoor noted.
The department has experienced first aid specialists such as Dr Amro Kandil and Dr Basil Mahmoud Ibrahim Jaber. Including emergency triage room, emergency intensive care unit, observation room, operating room, plaster isolation room, etc.
The emergency team is staffed with major subspecialties including surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, general pediatrics and neonatology, nephrology, gynecology, general internal medicine and more.
“All specialties are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and skilled professionals. The hospital has a Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Our laboratory provides modern investigations 24/7 and the Radiology Department is equipped with X-ray, CT scans, MRIs and other radiology services,” says pediatrician Dr. Sudheer Madathiparambil.
Dr Madathiparambil added: “We are now ready to receive ambulances from the Civil Defense Department, which is operational.”
The hospital and the Western Regions extend in all directions. The opening ceremony was attended by Madinat Zayed, Faisal Al Amri from Al Dhafra Municipality and Ezwa Alkhudari from the Emirates Red Crescent.
