Emirates News Agency – IDEX examines real opportunities for UAE development: Secretary-General of Tawazun Council

ABU DHABI, 18th February, 2023 (WAM) — The Tawazun Council is proud to have established a long-term partnership with the International Defense Exhibition, IDEX, and continues to contribute to this major event through its role as the main partner of the 30th edition. Contributed to the anniversary of the show, said Tareq Abdulraheem Al Hosani, secretary-general of the Tawazun Council.

In a statement published by the Al Jundi Journal, a monthly military and cultural journal published by the Ministry of Defense ahead of the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX), Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2023, Al Hosani said, ‘”The UAE’s defense and the security sector has grown considerably over the past three decades thanks to the vision and strong support of its wise leadership, which has paved the way for the sector to grow rapidly and build capacity to compete regionally Mid-level competition and international level. IDEX continues to play an important role in this growth, with the number of participants and visitors increasing year-on-year reflecting the degree of success the exhibition has achieved since its inception.
He added that by participating in IDEX, the Tawazun Council aims to reaffirm its leading role in the development of the defense and security sector, continue to oversee the procurement programs of the UAE Armed Forces and security authorities, and the management of strategic assets in the industry. It also sets out to achieve its objectives, which include enhancing all aspects of technology and innovation, and accelerating the growth of the sector by strengthening national capabilities and developing local capabilities.
