Eleven people were confirmed dead in New Zealand on Sunday from Cyclone Gabriel, with thousands more missing. New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins described Cyclone Gabriel as the country’s worst natural disaster of the century and said the search for missing persons was on alert. Last week, February 12, millions of homes were left without power due to the cyclone that hit northern New Zealand. More than 5,608 people have been reported missing, with 1,196 declared safe, according to police.
